Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Lotus Early Intervention.
What is early intervention?
Early intervention supports children with developmental delays, autism, communication differences, or additional support needs to build skills for everyday life. Through play-based, relationship-led support, we help children develop communication, social, emotional, and independence skills within their natural environments.
How do I get started?
Getting started is simple. Contact us for a free initial conversation where we take the time to learn about your child, your concerns, and your goals. From there, we'll discuss the most suitable supports and create a plan that works for your family.
What does a typical session look like?
Every session is tailored to your child's needs, interests, and goals. Sessions may include play-based learning, communication support, social interaction, emotional regulation, daily living skills, or parent coaching. Support is embedded within everyday routines to encourage meaningful and lasting progress.
Do you work with schools and childcare centres?
Yes. We work closely with families, educators, schools, and childcare centres to ensure strategies are consistent across environments. This collaborative approach helps children build skills and confidence throughout their day.
What areas do you service?
Lotus Early Intervention provides mobile services across Sydney, including home, school, childcare, and community settings. Telehealth and parent coaching options may also be available depending on your family's needs.
How much does it cost?
We offer services for both NDIS-funded and privately paying families. Costs depend on the type of support required. We are happy to discuss funding options and help families understand the supports available to them.
Do I need an NDIS plan to access support?
No. Families can access services privately without an NDIS plan. If you are considering applying for NDIS funding, we can also guide you through the process and help you understand the available pathways.
What is a Key Worker?
A Key Worker is one consistent professional who works alongside your child, family, educators, and other therapists. Rather than managing multiple providers, you have one trusted person coordinating support and helping everyone work towards the same goals.
Do you support Vietnamese-speaking families?
Yes. We proudly support Vietnamese families and can provide culturally responsive support in both English and Vietnamese. This helps families feel understood, confident, and actively involved in their child's development.
How often will my child need support?
The frequency of support depends on your child's needs, goals, and family circumstances. Some children benefit from weekly sessions, while others may require less frequent support combined with parent coaching and strategy implementation within everyday routines. We will work with you to determine what is most appropriate for your child.
Will I be involved in my child's sessions?
Absolutely. Parents and caregivers play an important role in a child's development. We work alongside families by sharing practical strategies, providing coaching, and creating opportunities for learning within everyday routines. Our goal is to build your confidence so you can continue supporting your child's progress between sessions.
How long does it take to see progress?
Every child develops at their own pace, so progress looks different for every family. We focus on meaningful, functional outcomes that support your child's participation in everyday life. While some families notice changes quickly, lasting progress is often built through small, consistent steps over time. We celebrate every achievement along the way.
Still Have Questions? We're here to help.
Whether you're worried about your child's development, looking for support at school or childcare, or exploring NDIS funding options, we're happy to have a conversation.
